Optical illusion in woman’s birthday photo goes viral for phallic detail

The internet loves an optical illusion.

There’s something wildly entertaining about seeing something that isn’t physically there – and trying to figure out what is really going on.

Which could be why this Scottish woman’s photo – which features a mind-bending detail that at first glance looks rather rude – went instantly viral.

After getting ready for a rare night out, Connie White decided to capture a snap all dolled up for the occasion.

The 22-year-old posed in front of a giant statement mirror in her Falkirk apartment in the skin-tight red dress she was wearing on Saturday night – but little did she know she was subject to an epic photo fail.

As soon as she uploaded the photo to Instagram, a commenter pointed out there was something a little off with Connie’s cute picture.

The mirror behind had caught the reflection of Connie’s foot, which at first glance made it appear as if she had a “penis between her legs”.

Mortified Connie uploaded the hilarious photo fail to Twitter, writing: “Cani believe a posted this on insta & someone commented about how it looked like a had a d*ck in-between my legs”

The photo quickly went viral, gaining over 23,700 likes and 1200 retweets, from people who in hysterics.

“Yes I spotted it now after about a minute looking. Yes their (sic) right it looks like a big one alright,” one user wrote.

“Connie should have said – obviously it’s funny when you notice the ‘penis’ but you’re a stunning girl. Well done for sharing this – so many girls wouldn’t do so they’d be too embarrassed,” another said.

While one declared: “You can’t convince me that it’s not actually under that skirt.”

Others shared multiple laughing face emojis, while one branded it the “ultimate photobomb”.

It’s not the only optical illusion that has captured the attention of the internet lately, with a man’s “nauseating” tattoo leaving people scratching their heads.

The photo, originally posted to Instagram by Utah tattoo artist Matt Pehrson back in April, has had more than 65,000 comments from baffled people.

“Did a crazy thing on my friend Ryan today,” Mr Pehrson captioned the photo. “We have a lot left to finish on his dome. What do you all think of a piece like this?”

The black and white ink work uses shading to make it look like the man has a hole in his head.

Some said the tattoo was so “trippy” it made them feel “uncomfortable” if they looked at it for too long.

“That is awesome as f**k but it gives me a headache if I look at it for long,” one person wrote, while another added: “It actually makes me nauseous looking at it.”
