Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa Fire Department is recognizing members of its 1996 academy class as they mark 30 years since beginning their careers in the fire service.
The recruits began their journey with the Tulsa Fire Department on Sept. 16, 1996, embarking on careers centered on service and protecting the Tulsa community.
Three members of the class remain with the department three decades later: Deputy Chief of Field Operations Brent Goins, Captain Matt Shearer and Captain Roger Schafer.
The department also congratulated Broken Arrow Fire Chief Jeremy Moore, another member of the Class of 1996, on reaching 30 years of service to the fire service.
Tulsa Fire Department also recognized the members of the class who have since retired, thanking them for the years they dedicated to the department and the community.
The department praised Goins, Shearer and Schafer for continuing to serve after three decades and for setting an example for those who followed them into the fire service.
The Tulsa Fire Department congratulated the entire Class of 1996 on 30 years of service and recognized the sacrifices and commitment that have defined their careers.
