Tulsa, OK – Officers with the Tulsa Police Department’s Mingo Valley Division spent time with children and families during a recent “Coloring with a Cop” event held at a local McDonald’s, focusing on building relationships and strengthening community connections.

The event brought together officers and young community members for an afternoon of coloring, conversation, and meals. Police said the gathering provided an opportunity for children to meet officers in a relaxed setting, ask questions, and learn more about police work.

According to the department, officers enjoyed discussing everything from favorite foods to the equipment and uniforms they use while serving the community. The event was designed to foster positive interactions and help build trust between law enforcement and residents.

Attendees also received a surprise visit from Tulsa Police Chief Denis Larsen, who spent time working the drive-thru window and greeting customers.

The Tulsa Police Department thanked everyone who attended the event and said community outreach opportunities such as Coloring with a Cop help create meaningful connections between officers and the residents they serve.

Officials said they remain committed to engaging with the community through programs that encourage conversation, understanding, and positive relationships.
