Who’s James Dale Reed? Maryland man arrested for plot to kidnap Biden, Harris and execute them on national TV

A plot to allegedly kidnap and execute Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris was busted by Secret Service and the “would-be killer” was put behind bars after a criminal complaint was filed by the Secret Service on Wednesday, October 21.

The man who allegedly planned to commit the hideous crime was identified as James Dale Reed. He approached a house in his hometown Maryland on October 4, 2020, that had Biden Harris campaign signs in the front yard. Reed allegedly left a handwritten note containing graphic threats against Biden, Harris and their supporters. While coming to drop off the letter, Reed was caught on a ring door camera.

The letter had ‘WARNING’ in large red letters written at the top and it further read that they will be “targeted” if they support the Democratic duo. “We have a list of homes and addresses by your election signs. We are the ones with those scary guns, We are the ones your children have nightmares about,” the threat continues. The graphic letter goes on to give details about how he plans to sodomize Harris and beat “Grandpa Biden” before executing them on national television.

On October 13, 2020, while being interviewed at his house, Reed denied that he left the letter. However, two days later, he admitted to writing it and was arrested.

US Attorney for the District of Maryland Robert K Hur said: “We take these types of threats extremely seriously. Such threats to commit violence are illegal and have no place in our democracy, and we will hold accountable those who make them. We are grateful for the assistance of the City of Frederick Police Department and to citizens who provided tips that ultimately led to Mr Reed’s arrest and these federal charges.”

At present, the 42-year-old is facing a federal charge of threats against Biden and Harris. If convicted, Reed will face a maximum of five years in jail. Reed has previously been known to the Secret Service for making a threatening statement against a person under its protection in 2014.

CBS journalist Kelsey Kushner shared the news on Twitter and wrote, “42-year-old James Reed was arrested and charged after allegedly leaving a letter on Theresa Posthuma’s doorstep — threatening to beat and kill Presidential Candidate Joe #Biden and Kamala #Harris. Theresa says her stomach was in knots as she was reading the letter. @wjz

A republican retweeted the tweet and said, “But others can make music videos, comedy skits, bomb threats to the White House, & even broadcast pics of decapitating the President’s head and its all crickets?! Ok”
