Oklahoma – The Tulsa Police Department arrested a 48-year-old Arkansas fugitive after officers located him beneath a bridge in Tulsa.

According to police, officers contacted David Sumpter on May 21 near 1st Street and Peoria Avenue. During the encounter, authorities discovered Sumpter was wanted out of Sebastian County, Arkansas, on a burglary warrant.

Officials said Tulsa officers contacted the Arkansas agency connected to the warrant and were informed that authorities intended to extradite Sumpter back to Arkansas to face the charge.

Police stated arrangements were being made for his transfer from Oklahoma to Arkansas custody.

Authorities noted that the arrest does not constitute a conviction, and any court proceedings related to the case will take place in Arkansas.
