Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa Police Department is investigating a shooting at the Western Pines Apartments that left a 26-year-old man hospitalized in critical condition.

According to police, officers were completing reports nearby around 10:28 p.m. on May 15 when they heard approximately 15 gunshots coming from the apartment complex located at 2409 S. Maybelle Ave.

Officers immediately responded and found the victim near a playground area suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Additional officers from several shifts arrived to secure the scene while emergency responders transported the victim to a hospital. Investigators said the man had been shot multiple times in the arms, stomach, back, and legs.

Police said the victim remains in stable but critical condition and is expected to survive.

Crime scene investigators recovered shell casings from the area where the shooting occurred.

Detectives said the motive behind the shooting and suspect information remain unknown as the investigation continues.

Tulsa Police are reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact investigators or Tulsa Crime Stoppers anonymously.
