Tulsa, OK – A man wanted in Pawnee County on felony charges of first-degree r-pe and abuse by caretaker was arrested by Tulsa Police officers while working out at an East Tulsa gym, authorities said.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, officers with the Mingo Valley Street Crimes Unit were notified that 49-year-old Robert Tryon, who was the subject of a felony warrant out of Pawnee County, was believed to be in the East Tulsa area.
The warrant carried a listed bond of $1 million.
On May 29 at approximately 9:25 a.m., officers conducted surveillance at a gym near 31st Street and Mingo Road after receiving information about Tryon’s whereabouts. Police said officers located the suspect inside the gym in the middle of a workout session.
Authorities detained Tryon without incident and confirmed he was the individual wanted on the Pawnee County warrant.
Following his arrest, Tryon was transported to the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center for booking. Police said a hold was placed on him so Pawnee County authorities could take custody of the suspect.
The Tulsa Police Department credited members of the Mingo Valley Street Crimes Unit and Pawnee County officials for their work in locating the suspect and obtaining the warrant.
The charges against Tryon remain allegations. An arrest is not a conviction, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
