Tulsa, OK – The City of Tulsa has officially launched major revitalization projects at Chamberlain Park and Berry Park, marking the start of construction aimed at expanding recreational spaces in North Tulsa.
City officials, including Mayor Monroe Nichols, District 1 Councilor Vanessa Hall-Harper, and Parks Director Anna America, joined representatives from Crossland Construction, the George Kaiser Family Foundation, and local residents for a groundbreaking ceremony held at the Jane A. Malone Center in Chamberlain Park.
According to the city, Chamberlain Park will undergo a 15-acre renovation featuring a new basketball pavilion, playground, community garden, picnic shelters, and nearly one mile of accessible walking trails.
The project also includes infrastructure improvements such as expanded parking and underground stormwater detention systems.
Berry Park will receive a 13-acre redesign that includes a central lawn, two large pavilions, a 0.3-mile walking loop, playgrounds for young children, splash pads, basketball courts, covered picnic areas, and shaded seating. Officials also said the design includes an above-ground stormwater detention pond to support long-term water management.
City leaders said construction is expected to begin later this month. Officials described the projects as part of a broader effort to improve public spaces and enhance quality of life for residents in North Tulsa.
