Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa Police Department is investigating a double shooting at Hicks Park that left a 23-year-old man dead and a 16-year-old boy critically injured.

According to police, officers responded on July 6, 2026, around 2:13 a.m., to reports of a large gathering at Hicks Park near 34th Street and Mingo Road. As officers arrived, multiple vehicles were seen leaving the area, and several people approached officers seeking help.

Police said people had gathered at the park unofficially following a party at an event center near 31st Street and Sheridan Road.

Officers found two victims lying in the parking lot, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately provided medical assistance until paramedics arrived.

One victim, a 23-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a 16-year-old boy, was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Tulsa Police Homicide Detectives are investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting and are working to collect evidence that could help identify a suspect.
