Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa Police Department arrested a woman following a hit-and-run crash investigation that led officers to discover PCP inside her vehicle.
According to police, officers responded on July 3, 2026, around 5:23 p.m., to a collision at Sandy Park Apartments near 11th Place and 61st West Avenue. Witnesses reported that a woman driving a silver Buick crashed into a pavilion covering the apartment complex’s mailboxes.
Police said several children were playing nearby when the driver began yelling and acting erratically. Officers arrived and found 43-year-old Kanitra Dunn in the Buick attempting to leave the scene. Dunn eventually stopped and agreed to exit the vehicle before being taken into custody.
Witnesses told officers Dunn had been driving approximately 50 mph through the apartment complex before losing control and striking the pavilion. Officers said Dunn displayed multiple signs of impairment during their interaction.
Police reported that a vial of PCP was visible inside the vehicle. A search of the car led to the discovery of a bag containing several empty glass vials.
Dunn completed a field sobriety test and was later taken to a hospital, where a blood draw was conducted. After being medically cleared, she was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on charges including trafficking PCP, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, leaving the scene of a collision, DUI, reckless driving, and obstruction.
The Tulsa Police Department said Dunn is a tribal member and the case will be forwarded to federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.
