Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa Fire Department along with multiple mutual aid agencies responded to several large grass fires over the past several hours. The fires, which posed significant threats to local properties and the community, required a coordinated effort from various fire departments in the region.

The first fire, triggered by a semi-truck collision, and the second, caused by arcing power lines, quickly spread due to dry conditions and strong winds.

The fires rapidly intensified, prompting TFD to deploy an extensive array of resources. Crews from the Catoosa Fire Department and Rolling Hills Fire Department also assisted, bringing additional equipment and expertise to the scene.

The following resources were dispatched to battle the blazes:

– TFD Engines 31, 66, and 103
– TFD Ladder 31, 66
– TFD Grass Rigs 24, 13, and 66
– Command vehicles Car 644 and Car 642
– Catoosa Fire Department: Fire Chief and multiple Grass Rigs
– Rolling Hills Fire: Tanker Truck, Grass Rig, Fire Chief

Firefighters worked tirelessly throughout the incident, using heavy equipment to bring the fires under control. Aided by fire chiefs and support crews, the team managed to prevent further spread and mitigate potential damage. The intense conditions, exacerbated by the area’s dry weather, made the operation challenging.

Authorities confirmed that both fires appeared to have been caused by power lines. The first fire began after a semi-truck collision, while the second was linked to arcing power lines. The rapid spread of flames caused significant concern for local residents and businesses in the area.

As of now, Tulsa remains under a Red Flag Warning, a critical advisory signaling high fire danger. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and avoid any outdoor burning activities. In addition, anyone who witnesses a fire should immediately contact 911 to ensure prompt response and minimize potential damage.

The Tulsa Fire Department and mutual aid partners have emphasized the importance of fire safety in these conditions and are continuing to monitor the situation closely. The department advises all residents to follow safety precautions and stay informed on local conditions.
