Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa Police Citizen Police Academy began this year with an introduction from Lt. Sokoloski, followed by an overview of the Special Operations Team (SOT) from Captain Eckert. The session focused on the history, structure, and tools used by SOT to handle high-stress situations. Founded in 1979, the Special Operations Team was created in response to the need for a specialized unit to address high-priority incidents. Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa Police Department would like to extend a special thanks to Trinity Woods Tulsa Retirement and Assisted Living Facility for hosting an ice cream social with officers from the Riverside Division on the afternoon of February 15, 2025. Tulsa, OK – On February 13, 2025, Tulsa police responded to a shooting near 5800 E. 128th Street South, where they discovered Ryan Davis, 53, deceased. The suspect, Rachel Odom, 53, Davis’s ex-wife, had fled the scene but was later apprehended in Oklahoma City. The case unfolded when an Oklahoma City attorney, representing Odom’s family, received information suggesting a shooting incident involving Odom and Davis. At around 7:30 p.m. on February 13, the attorney contacted a Tulsa attorney, who went to Odom’s residence to investigate. At 8:15 p.m., the Tulsa attorney informed police, and officers discovered Davis’s body inside the home.…

Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa Fire Department recently participated in a groundbreaking initiative to improve trauma care in the field. In collaboration with Our Blood Institute, the department’s EMS Supervisor Academy visited a Tulsa facility to learn about the Type O whole blood program, designed to equip first responders with critical resources for trauma patients. This program allows first responders to administer whole blood during the “golden hour” after injury, significantly improving the chances of survival for those in need. Tulsa, OK – Tulsa Police Burglary Unit detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a vehicle burglary that occurred on February 8, 2025, around 11:30 p.m. The suspect, seen in the photos below, was wearing a hoodie cinched around his head and distinctive shoes. The individual broke into a car parked in a driveway near 61st St. N. and MLK Jr. Blvd., taking several personal items before fleeing the scene on foot, heading north. Tulsa, OK – On February 13, 2025, around 9:45 p.m., Tulsa Police responded to reports of a crash near 91st and Riverside. Witnesses stated that a Tesla had veered off the road, driven through the grass, and eventually plunged into Joe Creek on the east side of Riverside. With the assistance of the Tulsa Police Helicopter, officers located the crashed vehicle in the creek. Due to the extensive damage to the Tesla, Tulsa Fire Department firefighters used extrication equipment to remove the passengers from the car.
